Apollo-Soyuz project

A joint US/Soviet space project in July 1975 in which an Apollo programme Command and Service Module docked with a Soviet Soyuz space station in Earth orbit at an altitude of 225 kilometres. The two teams of astronauts were able to visit each other's craft and they performed a number of experiments jointly.
